First off, welcome to my blog! My name’s Martin Pavey. I hope you’re doing great today.
I’m incredibly excited about this post because it’s the very first in a brand new professional direction for me!
Every Monday, I will be sharing a longer-form blog post on creativity (particularly blogging on this website). Martin, why are you blogging about blogging on your blog? Because I want to and because it’s a still massively unrated traffic source for your own mentality clarity and making stonking great wads of dosh!
In this first post, I’m going to be talking about ditching the 9-to-5 and how you can turn your own writing efforts into profit.
This post is not for the faint of heart, so buckle up fucker! Let’s dive into the five reasons I’ve come up with for why you’re suited to the entrepreneurial adventure.
1. YOU KNOW YOUR OWN MIND.
Let’s get one thing straight, I’m a really shit employee, you probably are too. Who likes being told what to do, right? Certainly not me, especially when it’s from politically correct arseholes in HR. You know the type.
Here’s the thing – you want to be useful. I feel the same. You want to actually help people, you want to learn skills and you want to impart them to other people, without bullshit, without strategically withholding things just for effect. You want to take people on a journey. Being principled is very important to you.
2. YOU MAKE CONNECTIONS ABOUT PRODUCTIVITY & FINANCE THAT OTHERS DON’T.
Most people don’t think, they don’t analyse, they do as they’re told and never question what their lives look like. Not you. There’s a massive difference between hard work and SMART work! It’s very easy to work hard doing the wrong things – 9-to-5ers are called paper-pushers for a reason. When you learn to work smart, you actually make a difference to peoples’ lives. You teach them valuable skills that genuinely improve their situation.
3. YOU WANT TO GET PAID PROPER MONEY – AND DESERVE TO BE!
The days of ‘job security’, a living wage and the Just Over Broke (JOB) are over. In fact, they have been for ages! The truth is, most lack ambition, and they lack ambition because they don’t believe in themselves, don’t believe in the opportunities available and don’t value themselves.
As an entrepreneur, you value yourself, you are confident and resilient and strong and you’re open to experience.
4. YOU CRAVE ADVENTURE!
Never one to shy away from new experiences, you put yourself out in the world and the feeling of being stifled is alien to you. Armed with the knowledge that everything works out for the best, you take charge of your situation and understand that not only will your circumstances will be the best they can be, YOU will be the best version of yourself that you can be.
5. YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELF.
Entrepreneurs are freedom lovers. You want freedom for yourself. You want freedom for others. More freedom is always a good thing because you take responsibility for yourself.
The world has changed my friend, many claim to be suffering in silence but it’s not that silent. In fact, most of the time it’s in plain sight. People are struggling but out of that struggle, you can be a beacon, you can shine your light and SHOW people there’s a better way.
When you enjoy yourself, you give people the permission they crave to do it for themselves. Will everyone follow? No, of course not, but even if one person does, that’s more joy in the world!
Tell me, which one of these do you resonate with most? What sign(s) would you add? I’d love to get your feedback in the comments.
The beauty of working online is the conversations you can get going with people you’d never ordinarily meet and, accompanying the theme of this blog post, it’s great to get asking serious questions. It’s brilliant to find solutions to common challenges.
I look forward to hearing from you and see you next week for another blog.
